Volunteer at PHC
PHC is a volunteer-supported clinic. More than 40 physicians and advanced practice providers donate their time alongside our staff, delivering high-quality, no-cost care to uninsured neighbors in Summit and Wasatch Counties. Our volunteers extend our capacity and bring specialty expertise our patients would otherwise go without.
Who volunteers with us
Our volunteer clinicians include physicians across multiple specialties, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, physical therapists, behavioral health counselors, and pharmacists. We also welcome volunteers outside the exam room, including interpreters, patient navigators, and administrative support.
Why our volunteers come back
Volunteering at PHC is patient care at its essence: no insurance paperwork, no billing codes, no RVUs. This is the way most clinicians imagined practicing medicine when they first chose this work. Our volunteers include clinicians trained at leading medical centers across the country, and our patients deeply appreciate the care they receive.
How to Get Involved
Volunteer Medical Assistants (VMAs) and non-clinical volunteers help with patient intake, interpretation, patient navigation, and administrative support. To join the VMA team or volunteer in any non-clinical role, contact our Clinical Operations Coordinator, Stephane Alvarez, at stephane@phcpc.org.
Physicians and medical providers, please complete the application below. We’ll reach out after reviewing your application.

Thank you to every volunteer, past and present, who has made this clinic possible.
