Denisse Zepeda, MSW, MA
Behavioral Health Counselor

Denisse Zepeda, MSW, MA, is a psychotherapist at the People’s Health Clinic. She holds a Master of Social Work and a Master’s degree in Literature from the University of Utah, bringing a unique lens to her sessions—one that values the power of a person’s story and the complex social dynamics that shape who they are.

Denisse brings a decade of experience in public education to her clinical work, offering a deep understanding of the challenges impacting children, families, and their well-being. She has been recognized for her leadership and clinical potential, receiving the Blanche Scowcroft Willey Award and a nomination for Clinical Trainee of the Year by the Association for Child and Adolescent Mental Health.

In her practice, Denisse focuses on building a foundation of trust. She views her work with patients as a partnership, grounded in a safe and supportive relationship that allows for the exploration of the deeper parts of a person’s experience. She provides a warm, bilingual space in both English and Spanish for individuals navigating PTSD, depression, anxiety, and the weight of past experiences. As an immigrant herself, she has a personal and professional understanding of the stress related to immigration and adjusting to a new culture. Denisse is committed to walking alongside her patients as they gain insight and work toward a more fulfilling life.

Outside of the clinic, Denisse finds balance and inspiration in nature. Whether she is exploring local trails or simply enjoying the outdoors, she loves spending time in the fresh air with her two dogs.
